New
Age Composer
Asher is a singer/songwriter who began by being
an instrumental new age composer back in
1987, recording several albums for New
World Music, some of which topped the
new age/ambient charts around the world,
like Open Secret, Mystic Heart and
Concert of Angels.
Beginnings & Early
Recordings
He began to improvise on the piano and play
by ear when aged 3 - so it has been a
while. His early recordings were produced by
footballing and cricketing buddy, Anthony
Phillips, who was a co-founder of Genesis. Later new-age offerings were
produced by Phil Thornton, at his studio in
Bexhill.
Spiritual
Leanings
He started to add lyrics from a spiritual
perspective, which at the time was unique
in the new-age field. These days he is more a
mainstream balladeer singing love songs in
the great troubadour tradition... songs of
romantic, courtly, spiritual and mythic
love.
Singing Stone Music
Having had a long association with New World Music, Asher
now puts his albums out on his own label, Singing Stone Music,
and these are distributed by Voiceprint Records.

Jungian
Psychotherapy
Apart from music, he works as a Jungian
psychotherapist and lecturer in depth
psychology, and is engaged in shamanic
studies and practices - see

married, has two young sons and lives by
the river in south west London.
